My daughter was on that for nearly a full two months before she left us. She took to sucking on cough drops and hard candies and consuming lots of water.

Reminds me of going to visit Mum in hospital one time. I pitched up around lunchtime, alongside the 'lunch delivery slurry trolley' as well as a couple of nursing porters who'd come to take Mum off for a scan of some sort.

Nurse: "It's fine, she can have lunch when she's back from radiology".

I took myself off for a walk and got back a few minutes before Mum was returned to the ward.

Nurse (beaming): "We've kept your lunch warm in our staffroom oven".

Mum groaned, then said "I had asked for a cheese salad".

It was.

Good to hear you are back in the room, and that you got the full syringe in recovery. They refused to let me have more than 2 mg last time I was in, even though I really needed it.

I hate to say this, but I discovered early this month that Tylenol 3 has been discontinued

I got the bad news when I phoned the pharmacy to get the remainder of my prescription.

Apparently Tylenol announced that they were discontinuing it back last September, my pharmacist said they had not been able to get any since early November.

There is now only Lenotec-3 ........... the cheaper version. I've never found that to work as well for me as the brand name T-3, even though they are exactly the same formulation.

Keep happy

Hope you have a smooth recovery and don't have to spend too much time in hospital.

As for toast its always soggy by the time it gets to you in hospitals but I always kind of liked hospital toast.

They never feed me enough in hospitals so I always have to pester the nurses for a sandwich.....how they expect people to go from 5pm to 7am with nothing to eat I will never know.

Hopefully the pain killers are keeping your pain at mangeable levels.

I've not been an in-patient here but my wife was for a month and, later two weeks.
I remember for the first couple of days she'd be getting meals ordered by someone else for that 'bed' and then on discharge someone else would be getting her orders for a couple of days.

But there was always a snack delivered in the Evening. Cheese and crackers with a glass of milk.

The hospital I've been in for my spine surgeries has room service to order

I never got to choose, the menu was set by the day of the week, Thursday was fish dinner The rest of the week was decent though, after 6 weeks however it got a little tiring eating hospital food. It was kind of like prison 7am wake up, 8am breakfast, 12 noon lunch, and 5pm dinner.

Breakfast was the only good mean, but its hard to mess up cereal or scrambled eggs or such... ha ha

Hot scrambled eggs for the second time since I got here, and I got a sponge bath and a clean sheet and pillow cases and a clean gown and housecoat, replacing the stuff I was issued on Friday and went to OR in on Saturday. Maybe it doesn't make me feel like a new man or like a million dollars, but it feels pretty darned good.

Did you at least get a young nurse, wearing a very tight uniform, to give you the sponge bath?

Seems a lot of fuss. You DO have another leg* you know.

*Or you don't, in which case I retract.

Oh sure but I'll tell you right now those Brazzers educational films don't give an accurate depiction of hospital care, at least in Canada. There are some glaring inequities between what happens in porn and the reality of our healthcare system.

Something hot and decent to eat, a wash and clean clothes, all absolute heaven after all you've been through. So glad you're feeling more comfortable.
