All exciting stuff, and yes Canucks making hard work of this. But who would have though that Detroit would be coming back at San jose.....all games are hard fought and makes this an exciting playoffs.

At least there is no chance we will be beaten in a penalty shootout by the Germans.

I guess you've all heard that theory about North American cities that host the winter olympics... the year afterwards the closest NHL team wins the playoff? Or something like that

Re: Canucks for the cup?
i really hope they don't
before the playoffs i put $5 on tampa, and $5 on boston... that bet is looking pretty good now
i still think the winner will come from the east. the western teams will have been too busy beating the sh*t out of each other. whichever one makes it wont have the legs to go all the way. thats my opinion anyway
also, is it just me, or have you noticed the whole "you have to support a canadian team" attitude here. its a bit like the english teams in the champions league. personally i think its crap. if vancouver win, we'll never hear the end of it

Yeah I really miss the banter that everyone has back home in regards to the team they support. Everyone here is cheering for the same team so yeah it's good when they do well.. but whenever they do crap or whatever it's so boring. That's what makes sports back in Europe so much more passionate and fan orientated.. rivalries. None of this one team per city crap.. so that the whole town can jump on and off the bandwagon when it suits them.

My friends who support the Oilers, Leafs, and Flames are quite excited at the thought of the Canuckleheads being knocked out. They cheer the other teams quite vigorously, wherever they're from
