Default Canadian Tire

Here is a message for you (sorry purps!!!)

Today I went to get may mail (its been a fair while since I collected it as I do bill payments and stuff online).

It was full mainly of Canadian Tire flyers.

I know you guys have a sale every Friday - its not like this week you decided to go against the grain and not have one - so first off I GET THE SALE ON A FRIDAY THING OKAY!

If on the offchance that I do decide I would like something on afore mentioned brochure - do me a favour - HAVE SOME

Last but not least a message to the employees - if you don't work in that fricken section - DONT *****ING STAND IN IT. YOU LET ME DRONE ON FOR 10 MINS ABOUT THE THING I CAN'T FIND THAT SHOULD BE HERE (AS ADVERTISED IN AFOREMENTIONED FLYER) TO TELL ME YOU DON'T WORK IN THIS BIT.

Rant over

You really summed up Crappy Tire very well with that posting! I made the mistake of going there today for something in the flier.... and of course they didn't have it. Even though I was there at 9:10 am, they insist they sold out this morning. I should have known better than to even try.

Customer service has been a contentious issue at CT for many years (perhaps forever). If someone has a pulse they are hireable. I've noticed some improvement in this area in the past year or so but it is still far from accptable. From a merchandising standpoint it is one of Canada's great successes. The weekly (daily) flyers are, I think, designed/meant for men who become orgasmic at the prospect of entering the hallowed doors. If you have, or can ever drum up, enough money to buy a franchise you and your family will be set for generations.

Just a small point. Actually they are not franchises. There are no franchise fees. They are dealerships and all you pay for is the store inventory. That's after you complete CT's "training program" which may well take a couple of years. You start as a dealer trainee, or store clerk, in Flat Tire, AB or Otter Haunch, SK or whatever place they send you to. You have no choice as to where and it's hard graft. However, you are correct in that once you get through the wilderness you will do very nicely thank you.

Thanks (without sarcasm) for the info. I'm always pleased to learn something new.

I can relate to that, but it's far from being just Canadian Tire running out of advertised bargains. Sometimes there's even no sign of the store having had the advertised item for sale in the first place.
