Canadian Humour Deficit Syndrome
Some of you may remember how I used to be unable to understand British humour and how I used to joke that I suffered from BHDS (British Humour Deficit Syndrome).
Well, believe it or not, I've now discovered that there's such a thing as CHDS (Canadian Humour Deficit Syndrome). Alas, I reportedly suffer from that too. It's quite a shock to the system to discover this now, after having spent a cumulative total of 27 years in Canada.
Be that as it may, Vancouver Island is ecstatically, deliriously, divinely wonderful. At least it is for me.

I wasn't claiming any intelligence for myself, I quite enjoy the occasional Trailer Park Boys and that old TV exec based Rick Mercer vehicle whose name escapes me, and Ron James is as funny as anything...
But I'll endeavour to trouble the smell chequer in future....

Hi Judy,
What do Canadians think of Brits and their apparently random humour?
Even here in the U.K. a sense of humour is very personal. Sometimes I am at the cinema laughing very loudly, but then realise that I am the only one who got the joke, and have made a fool of myself. Very embarrassing.
Of all the serious things I have to worry about regarding emigrating, I have this to worry about now too!
