Canada might be getting 10 days paid sick leave

Looks like Canada is finally getting paid sick leave.

I know this has been a contentious issue for some would-be migrants, as other countries offer paid sick leave and more vacation, so this certainly could raise Canada's appeal from a work/life balance standpoint.

As Jsmith says, what Trudeau actually said was that "we are" working closely with the provinces to bring in up to 10 days paid sick leave.
As you know, each province is responsible for this aspect, NOT the Feds.
BC has been pushing for it, Horgan has said that "people in Ottawa" support him, but he has NEVER said that any other Provincial premier agrees.
Don't hold your breath!! I can think of several provinces where it will be a hard sell!

Looks like the leadership of BC, Yukon and Manitoba are for paid sick leave.
Joint statement released today.

Even without a Provincial mandate, I know that some larger employers (such as mine) have increased the paid sick-leave entitlement due to the WuFlu.
We now get 10 days and, predictably, folk are treating it as leave.

exactly and he only did it to get support from the NDP to limit/suspend parliament. He has no real interest in going to bat for it.
I think mr Singh got sold a bag of magic beans on this one.
