Alexander Bell was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on March 3, 1847.

He was not Canadian, but on his 11th Birthday he adopted the middle name of 'Graham' out of admiration for Alexander Graham, a Canadian being treated by his father and boarder who had become a family friend.

Is that true what they say about Winnipeg having one of the highest car theft rates in North America?

Yes, it was a few kids (12 year olds) who were stealing 4 or 5 cars a night, and as soon as the police caught them they were being let go as they were so young. Nearly all the car theft here is by Kids under 17.

But then they are the gang bangers too.

This week, 2 x 15 year olds, a 17 year old (boys) and a 20 year old girl were arrested for possession of 30 fire arms, including 5 shot guns and a sub-machine gun.

The only bright side is that they use these weapons on other gang bangers.

Ah popular misconceptions, gotta love em.

Canada is the only country that borders three oceans? What about the United States or is Alaska not on the Arctic Ocean anymore?

Ottawa coldest capital? Actually the capital of Mongolia is the average coldest, followed by the capital of Kazakhstan. The inhabitants of Moscow will have something to say when they come in third. Then you have Helsinki, Reykjavik and Tallin before Ottawa.

Historical evidence shows that Baseball existed long before the concept of Canada, and was potentially invented in Europe although the origins are relatively undocumented it's commonly agreed it's an adaptation of Rounders.

World's tallest free standing structure is in Dubai, but we don't know the age of this video.

Bell has been covered.

Canada hasn't been part of the peacekeeping mission for India/Pakistan. Hasn't been involved in the operations in Burundi. And several others.

Plus other inaccuracies.

Sometimes the little things just annoy me you know. Urban myths and popular misconceptions annoy me mostly. You know like the belief sushi means raw fish. Some things just work their way out and into the popular consciousness even though they're quite incorrect.
