Canada Day plans?

I'm having a bbq for my Canadian friends, where there won't be a hotdog or hamburger in sight. It's going to be marinated lamb chops with mint sauce, rosemary chicken, a thai green mango salad and pistachio ice cream sundaes for pudding. And I might even break out the cricket set and have a knock about.

Anybody doing anything special for Canada Day?

You actually have Canadian friends?

How do you stand the mediocrity?

I like to stand out in a crowd. ;)

Are you doing anything nice for Canada Day? Getting your face paintd with a maple leaf, letting off some fireworks?

I imagine that a BBQ round at Oink's would be rather like this:

Encouraging my kids and friends kids to win at the mutton and calf rustlin at Airdire rodeo.

They won't have a problem cos no-one else will be intersted in winning

Work in the morning, Golf in the afternoon, Mexican in the evening

The latter two with stereotypical West Coast Canadians - 1x Mexican, 1x Filipino, 1x Chinese, 1x White Canadian, and none of them drive a taxi.

I'd like to say it's multicultural but they have bugger all to do with their birth culture :)

If any of us are sober enough by that point I think we will also go and watch the fireworks in Coal Harbour.

I'm not exactly going to be shoving maple leaf flags up my backside but it seems as good day for a party. And in comparison of all the excessive bugle blowing 4th of July bollox I had to endure down there, Canada Day is a refreshingly low key affair.

Depends on the weather.

- If it's nice I'm gonna spend it in the garden; either working on it or sitting about in it with booze.

- If it's nasty, it's a PS3 weekend.

I suspect it will be a combination of the two.
