Canada bans Marmite?

Re: Canada bans Marmite?
I just do not understand this story even slightly, I can't remember the last time I went into a supermarket in Canada and they didn't have Marmite or McVitie's, and I've seen Irn-Bru plenty of times too.
So why did he want to import it all independently and why is the CFIA complaining?
I can't see the purpose of either action.

I believe his Marmite prices are cheaper than Superstore, too. I normally bring mine back with me when I go to the UK, so I can't be sure.

Trying to find out if it's still legal to bring it in yourself or if it's totally contraband. My son needs it. Literally needs!

I'm wondering if the airport sniffer dogs are going to be trained in Marmite detection ;-) or have they been retired (haven't seen any in a while)?

Curry in a pie... I think they come from somewhere in BC; I meant to write the name down last time, but forgot .
I've been eating those. They're OK, but seem to have disappeared from Superstore again.
There are some Jamaican pasty/patty things that are quite good but I can't get the hot as opposed to mild ones anymore.

Bought a Chicken Tikka Slice in Tesco yesterday. Impulse purchase, and wasn't any good. Quite common these days though. (In more ways than one )

I just found this - panic over!!
"... But the agency said the drinks and spread found at Brit Foods shops, while in violation of Canada's food safety laws, were not a health risk and were not removed from the store shelves ..."
"These are technical violations of the regulations," the agency told the BBC in a statement. "There is no food safety risk associated with these products."
