Re: Camping - been bitten by the bug?
OK, you have decided me. Junior and I will be going to a clay shoot at the end of the month so I am going to put the tent, gas stove, percolator, bbq, fire drum and firewood in the car, along with the 12 guage, 20 guage, high power, couple of 22s, and he and I will have the weekend in Terrys field.
It will be juniors first experience of camping, and my first go for many years. Got me quite excited now. And I shall be trying both the savoury recipes. The one in the foil sounds like a pasty of sorts withouth the heartburn. I reckon it will be mini rast dinners for both of us and maybe Terry will allow us and a few others to do it and we can PARTAYYY!!!!:p |

Spanky, what circumstances could possibly merit putting a car inside your tent...? Thought about it for a few minutes, and just can't figure it out.
Lucky us, we don't have to go camping to see bears, they come to visit!! :D We had a young one in our garage the other day, my daughter (the baby) was quite surprised, the other daughter was a bit scared, but the bear didn't really care about us. Now that blueberries are ready they will most likely stop coming though, why bother and get barked at... i'm just saying it is so big that it can happily accommodate a car, bicycles, a kayak, larder, table & chairs, and then there is still 3 rooms attached to it!! CRAZY big. 8m x 8m - that's bigger than some people's homes! |

Just got back from our adventures, sad to be in flat Alberta, but loved Nelson and the surrounding area.
Still a devout camper and can't wait until the end of the month for the mums and kids campout! Even after the shite weather we had for two days! Hope you are all well. Mrs M PS: Still not a fricking bear in site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

We went for a drive in the mountains and ended up on the Icefields Parkway (didn't go all the way to Jasper - no time. Turned off at the Saskatchewan river crossing and headed back to Calgary at that point). One bear had caused a bit of a bear-jam (ie inconsiderate RV driver with HUGE RV who thought it was a good idea to park in the middle of the road, unload kids and grandma to look at the bear, then no one could go anywhere because he was blocking everything up, so they had all piled out of the cars to gawp and point at the bear as well). The second bear was happily bumbling around in the undergrowth undetected by anyone but us and we just watched him from the car. I didn't manage to get a picture of the wolf - he was trotting along the grassy verge and I didn't have the camera to hand - by the time I had got it we had passed him. |

Please note: You suck Chookie:rofl:.
Whenever we look out especially for one, we never bloody see them. But a day out in Waterton down the road, has the buggers literally smiling for the camera lol;) Did see a rather cheeky skunk and turtles, deer, Osprey, Eagle, shit loads of chip munks that confused the life out of the dog, angry squirrels, mountain goats, hear wolves and of course, we seen copious amounts of the dirty hippy in Nelson too   |
