Re: Calgary Meet Up - Feb 7th or 8th?
Hey Bandit
Yes I am still in, would prefer the Kensington pub just because I would be coming on my own and know where to park in Kensington. I don't drive downtown and not really wanting to take the C-train back south on me own! However I am sure I could find someone to keep me company on the train should we meet downtown.
Looking forward to meeting you and seeing everyone else

Hi guys - is this still going ahead on Friday evening ?
Think we possibly narrowed it down to Kensington pub or James Joyce?
I should be free if hubby gets home at the time he is supposed to
As I'm coming from furthest out NW, does anyone want a lift ?

Would love to share a lift back to the NW if you have room - I will be downtown all day, so will meet you straight from work.

I'm still game for this.
Does anyone have any preferences regarding location? Either location would be fine for me.
Also, is there a time that we're aiming for?
Oh yes, if anyone is coming from the southwest quadrant, I could give them a ride. I'd be coming from Oakridge.

Hey Guys!!
I'm here now, and enjoying the snow
It's a shock coming up from Houston I have to say.
I found the James Joyce on my own yesterday so know where that is now - will be fine to find anything else too.
I don't know working hours here but seems people get out by about 6, so anytime near or after that would be cool with me. I'm flying hte next day so need to repack 2 weeks of stuff - yet again!"!!
Off for an interview / meeting shortly - some starbucks somewhere!!! There aren't as many as in Vancouver however - there they have totally bought up hte place
OK - looking forward to meeting you guys.

Oh Ann
I hope you can get things sorted???
I realised today that the Kensington is a train ride away - which actually won't be an issue - but if there is a factor to sway things - I can at least walk to and from the James Joyce place.
That won't matter much as I'm truly an adventurer so I will work things out.
Ann - hope you can sort out something as I'd love to meet you.
And I'm looking forward to meeting you ALL!!!!!!

Re: Calgary Meet Up - Feb 7th or 8th?
Okay, people, we have to make a decision.
I've just phoned the James Joyce Pub at 114 - 8 Avenue SW, telephone 403-262-0708.
Spoke to Sylvia. She said she could give us "Tullamour," a semi-private, less noisy space that seated 8 people. (By my count, 7 have expressed interest.)
I booked that space under my own name, just to hold it, in case we do want it.
The caveat is that Sylvia gave us that space on condition we booked it from 5.00 p.m.
She said that they started filling up at 4.00 p.m. on a Friday and, if we didn't show up till 6.00 p.m., they would be forced to give the space to someone else. Then, if we showed up at 6.00 p.m., there was a good chance we'd have to wait.
I am willing to get there at 5.00 p.m. to hold the space.
So, what I would like to know is:

So, what I would like to know is:
- Do the majority of people want to go to James Joyce? (If we choose this option, my feeling is that we don't all have to get there for 6.00 p.m. Some of us can arrive at 5.00 p.m. and hold the space for the others.)
or
- Do the majority of people want to go to Kensington Pub?

I have no idea where I want to go, but I could be driving by myself and would like somewhere that doesn't get me into a panic.
The other thing is I will no way be able to get there that early and foolishly thought this may be a more british later gathering. Realistically I cannot leave the far NW until 6:15pmish.
