British Expats - Britons' dreams of US visas shattered

The last couple of night TVO has been showing a documentary mini series about canadian immigration and border control enforcement called "the undefended border". Its been quite interesting, if a bit old (2001 ish), and the same sort of scams go in in canada too, or used to anyway.

One stat I vaguely remember was that the investigation unit gets a certain number of work permit applications passed on for it to look at, and in about 1 in 10 cases they are able to go and see if the business really exists, and in something like a third of those its some sort of scam
