British Passport Photos
Can anyone tell me where to get photos for a British passport in Canada? If we want a holiday this year we need to get new passports for the kids or leave them behind!

any photographer who does passport photos should have the information for the requirements of different countries.
I know we go to a local camera shop, and they can do whatever is needed.

A local print place has a gadget that sets the size etc for several countries, purposes. I'm sure there be one near you. Shoppers does them too but be prepared for a load off faffing around.

Same here....(although a different branch I'm sure). They had a folder with the specifications for several different passports so no problems. Only thing they insisted on was taking my prescription glasses off which I don't recall being a requirement in the UK. (although granted last time I got a passport photo in the UK was 15 or more years ago). Makes for a slightly awkward experience at the automated pp kiosks as they sometime don't recognise me with glasses on and when I take them off I can't see what I'm supposed to be doing!

Thanks everybody.
The next fun thing is getting them signed. We've moved around a bit so difficult to have somebody who has known the kids long enough AND who is allowed to sign.
As an aside I learnt yesterday that just about anybody can sign Canadian ones! What's that all about??!!

Print photo specifications, take it to Shoppers. They look. They pull down the background screen in the chill cabinet. You sit in the chair, they take the picture.
They do the bits they need to do and you have your photos. They guarantee redoing them at no charge if there's a problem.
I've had my UK passport and PR card done there. About half the cost of the photographer I used to go to.

Got mine at Costco today. Paid $7 dollars for the UK 45mm x 35mm size photos.

This reminds me of getting my first passport all those years ago. I went to see the bank manager, yes they still had branches in those days complete with man behind a desk. He was very obliging having just met me for the first time, his only question was 'How long am I supposed to have known you for?'.
Nowadays, even as a Premier customer of HSBC, their manager refused to authorise a photocopy of my current passport for pension purposes. I wasn't impressed. I'm no longer a Premier customer.

So much easier to get a Canadian application signed. You can even ask your Mum! Lol
