British Expats Forum Interface

Anyone else not like the new interface?

I find it more clunky and it keeps dropping my quotes?

I'm a stickler for usability what is going on?

Symbolic change masquerading as progress. ;)

there's a big thread on this in the site feedback forum. Our very own Schnookololy has done a bang-up job on tracking all the issues and their potential resolution. Here

It's pissing me off. I have to log in again if I go away for long enough to have a dump.

Yes that is annoying.

There's a thread about it in Site Feedback (general issues, not going for a dump).

And it has once again changed the order in which posts are displayed!

I went to 'my profile'. Blue lines everywhere.

I don't know what all the fuss is about. Its obviously a hopelessly outdated design and interface but its rather quaint and sort of reminds you of before 9/11.

I can come back to my computer several hours later and never have to log on again, did you check the 'remember me' button when you logged in...

I don't mind it really. It's different, but not different enough to prevent it looking a bit off at first. I do wish there was a mobile version though as I want easy browsing while I'm lounging in the garden.

Seems barely different to me so far.

Bit of a separation between stickies and the rest is about the only thing I've noticed.

Oh...and something in PMs but I clicked in the normal bit and read it normally.

If you go in on a mobile device there is advertising now inserted into the thread and down the side. I suspect this is the main driver behind the change.

I've just found that it has been missing quotes and I have to click on the little arrow to get to the latest post now.

The usability has gone backwards.

There's always a few hiccups after an update, most of the little niggles should be sorted out quite quick, they are moving through the list. :D This update's gone quite well, the last one was a complete cock up for weeks and weeks and......;)

This update was long needed. Loads of things not working properly and things we couldn't have because of old coding.

However, if you do have issues that aren't just normal grumbles about change then do post them in the thread in Site Feedback. Tech are doing what they can but if a problem doesn't get to the particular thread it may well get missed completely.

Schnook has done a great job.

Thanks guys. :)

As everyone else said, head to the General Issues thread that moneypenny linked to, or use the link in my signature. I'm keeping an eye on that thread and updating the summary once or twice a day, depending how many new things are coming up. I've been told that the Techs are using the summary posts as a way to keep track of what needs to get fixed, so post any issues in that thread and it will get seen. :)
