Kippers. It's time to start practicing for Christmas!
This time I remembered to save the milk and water from poaching so I can use it in clam chowder later.

Oatmeal made with water (with a pinch of salt) and thick enough to cut with a knife (literally) served with 3 teaspoons of extra dark maple syrup and followed by half a slice of wholegrain with 2 ounces of cottage cheese.

I don't think I've ever made porridge with anything but water. I think as kids sometimes we added milk and my (adult) stepdaughter does that even now.

I can't be the only one who had a snuffle through the Halloween chocolate this morning can I?

Re: Breakfast Choices
It was a slightly unconventional breakfast, because I wanted to use up some of the duck from a couple of days ago, so I had duck with mushrooms, onions and sliced garlic in black bean sauce with pot sticker dumplings and udon noodles. It was supper time in Japan, so not altogether wrong, I suppose.
