Perhaps old Donny could start flying the planes. It would be the greatest, smoothest, fastest plane ride ever. Probably even faster than the Concorde used to be. :lol:

Bored and can't sleep checking some of the Air Canada 737 MAX routes.

Vancouver-Palm Springs is switched to A321
Vancouver to Maui they have consolidated flights into 1 using a 787
Vancouver to Honolulu same as Maui but using a 777-300
Looks like various flights to Mexico will be A321
Looks like Kona passengers are being routed via Los Angeles
Atlantic Canada to London appears to be cancelled for now.
I only checked the next day or 2.
Some Calgary flights from Vancouver have been cancelled, and looks like they might be adding some Jazz flights.
Some Montreal to Los Angeles flights will be A330, while some have cancelled, consolidating flights onto wide body.

Even Canada has reacted by joining the ban on Boeing Crash Aircraft.
Only hope things get sorted out soon for the company and passengers

American Airlines pilots apparently got 0 simulator time in the MAX and only a 56 minute training on the differences between the NG and MAX

"Capt. Dennis Tajer, spokesperson for the American Airlines pilots union, called the approval of pilots flying the plane without first training on simulators “unfortunate.”

"Tajer said pilots for American Airlines, which has 24 of Boeing’s new planes in operation, are given a 56-minute video as training to fly the new aircraft."

It does seem training could be part of the issue, American Airlines for example provided their pilots with 56 minutes of training on the differences between the MAX and NG series and no simulator time according to their pilots union.

I wonder how many airlines did the same?

American Airlines and Southwest don't even have MAX simulators on property yet. (they do for the NG series)

In the event of liability being established it will be interesting to see how the damages / punishment / compensation are assessed, compared to the ongoing VW "dieselgate" saga (bearing in mind that nobody died because of / in a smelly VW).

Some have already been filed from the Lion Air accident.

In the past Boeing has been able to get cases thrown out of US courts in accidents involving foreign airlines, but from some articles I have read this time around US judges may find there is enough connect to the US to bring suits forward, generally companies try and avoid US courts due to the high payouts juries tend to provide.

Ah well, I posted earlier that daughter's trip here on Saturday was unaffected .................. not so.

She heard this morning that the plane from Edmonton to Vancouver has been changed, she's delayed 3 hours, hasn't yet got seats reserved (which she did have before).

I guess she'll ave to wait to hear about the return trip until the end of next week

I heard on the TV last night that the black boxes were being given to the French Aviation authority because it was thought the US guys were too close to Boeing

That's to be expected, the airlines only have so many planes and with a % of their fleet on the ground, they wont be able to maintain a full schedule. its a domino effect.

Until the MAX aircraft are flying again expect delays and cancelled flights.
