blu ray player advice
 

guys,

I'm looking for some advice...... I dug out my blu ray player and was planning on getting a step up converter for it..

However when I plugged it directly into the wall socket (110v) it powered up fine, it's rated 220v 50hz but seems to run fine on 110v 60hz. Am I likely to run in to problems running on the reduced raw voltage or should I just get a converter?.

Odds on is that it uses a switch mode power supply, those things run happily on anything from 90v up to 270v and frequency range that extends from about 40hz to 80hz

If it hasn't overheated within 24hrs it’s unlikely to be a problem long term

I had a Sony TV that had a similar rating on the side but ran very well on 120v at 60Hz
