I've been tracking the prices of Ipads as I'm looking to replace my (relatively) elderly Nexus 7. Canada seems to be as cheap as the US once exchange rates are factored in. Certainly cheaper than UK.

I'm looking for an iPad mini 1 or 2, any tips appreciated. Best price I've seen is $299 for the retina 2 mini at Best Buy or $228 at WalMart for a mini 1

I'm after a mini as well. My research indicates that the Mini 3 is not worth the premium so I'm looking for a Mini 2 with the Retina display. I'd like 32GB+ of memory though. Best price so far seems to be $349 at BB.

I have an email from Bestbuy outlining all their deals for black Friday... iPads included. If you're interested send me a PM with your email address and i'll forward it to you

Re: Black Friday un-necessary purchases...
I saw a side by side test. The mini 2 with retina is three to four times the speed of a mini 1, so I'm swayed toward dropping the eXtra 50$ for that. It's almost same speed as the new iPad Air, just seconds behind.
They did a test download of a programme that shows speed. Both the 2 and Air did it in about 15 - 20 seconds, the ipad 1 did it in 2 minutes. :@(

I know you are making fun of us a little, and I did totally invite these kind of comments, but in truth yes it it something Ben and I have fun doign together ( the lego!)
It might be weird to some people but i think the fact that we've been together over 20 years now and still enjoy spending time with each other, says that weird or not we must be doing something right!!!

I already have it thanks. I have no intention of going and battling it out at a store today so I'll wait for Cyber Monday.

It's great that you and Ben have a common hobby. But, seriously, Lego? What is wrong with shagging?
I'm in trouble today, BTW. I didn't realise until waaaaay too late what day it is today.

I understand that. This week I wrote to my child in the jungle (a long time blockista):
"If you tire of adventure, you might go after a job with this firm:
http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2014/nov/27/lego-santa-reindeer-covent-garden-duncan-titmarsh"
to which the reply was,
"Don't think I haven't already considered it! Every year I went to Covent Garden to see the Christmas installation."
It struck me as surreal that someone should be sitting with earshot of gunfire and explosions emailing about Lego.
