no, your friend f-ed up. It is pronounced 2 different ways. Like Caroline and Carolyn. Just thought I would throw that in there.

I'm going to guess that "teaching rounds" are part of a persons teacher training.

If so I hope that your friends supervising teacher gave your friend a damned good talking to after this event.

Your so called friend is a complete asshole if what you say he did is true.

To single the child out in this manner is unconscionable and shows total lack of respect for the child. It is not up to him as a teacher to ridicule a child's name no matter what he thinks of it and especially not in front of her classmates.

People give their children all kinds of names that others think ridiculous in the extreme but it is not our place and especially not a teachers place to embarrass the so named individual by calling attention to it in this manner.

I have no idea where outer eastern suburbs would be but round here I see all sorts of spellings for names. Some are phonetical, some are the parents' whim. Whatever is on the birth certificate is correct.

There's a reason for this:

A psychiatrist was conducting a group therapy session with four young mothers and their small children. "You all have obsessions," he observed. To the first mother, he said, "You are obsessed with eating. You've even named your daughter Candy." He turned to the second Mom. "Your obsession is money. Again, it manifests itself in your child's name, Penny." He turned to the third Mom. "Your obsession is alcohol. Again, it manifests itself in your child's name, Brandy." At this point, the fourth mother got up, took her little boy by the hand and whispered, "Come on, Dick, let's go."

Bogun

1.Australian person, usually caucasian,of uncouth and lower class background, residing on the edge of civilisation. Characteristics of a bogun include, proudly sporting a mullet hair cut, extremely small shorts,a grease stained t-shirt underneath a flanelette shirt of some description.A bogun's natural habitat is any suburb of australia with low property values,in a house that generally has 2 or 3 cars up on bricks in the front yard with no wheels or missing vital mechanical parts. One of the cars must be a ute(utility vehicle).Boguns are genrally spotted with a stubbie(screw top beer bottle) or bong (pot smoking paraphernalia) in hand.
1.Look at that dickhead bogun, if he was american we'd call him a redneck hillbilly.

2.That bloke talks so much like George W. Bush, he must be a bogun!

I think you'll find that, although it's pronounced boguns, it's actually spelled bogans.
