This morning I announced to my lecture attendees that the final exam for the course had been rescheduled from next Sunday (don't ask) to next Thursday.

I allowed a moment of stunned silence before pointing out that this was April Fool's Day.

Unfortunately, I'd neglected to take into account that at least half of the class had never heard of April Fool's Day.

It took some sorting out. I can tell you.

myself and my colleagues sent an email to the dept to say that our main canada call centre phones had gone down and that we were required to stand in to handle all the calls, circa 1000 a day for 30 approx in my dept:eek:
we requested that they all attend the boardroom to figure out how we were going to manage it, some bought notepads and pens lol, we served up coffee, tea, bagels and cookies:thumbsup:

My OH this morning had a staff member ask if he could have a quiet word, who then told him that he was resigning, as there were other far more attractive jobs on offer and he had been head-hunted....

He then handed him a letter and told him it explained everything:

The letter said "APRIL FOOL! I really like working with you and we make a great team!" (or some such drivel) ... hubby nearly throttled him!

Then this guy told him he'd played a similar trick with his land-lady, telling her he couldn't pay the rent this month and next month was looking iffy too, but he'd put what he could afford in this envelope ..... APRIL FOOL! ha ha :blink:

He said he'd seriously though she was going to suffer a stroke.

Some people have an odd idea of what is funny.

IT planted a microphone in the ceiling of my office and started whispering " Zoe are you there" in a supposedly spookey voice

Only problem was they had done the exact same thing to my colleague 10 minutes earlier and we talk so I knew exactly what was going on

It could have been funny except I'm less than impressed with the fact it's now taken them 3 days to fix the print drivers on my machine so that I can actually print stuff

They didn't appreciate me requesting that they actually divert some there energy to fixing that problem
