Beer

Why is the standard UK beer can size 440ml? | Life and style | The Guardian

Brilliant comment from someone:

If my father thought that the head on his pint was to big would ask, "could you fit a double whisky in there" if the answer was "yes", he'd reply, "then fill it up with beer".

440ml? Here, baby cans are 355ml and proper cans are 500ml. Interestingly I've actually found a Canadian beer that I rather enjoy. Nice, crisp and clean. As I've stopped drinking alcohol for Lent, I've restricted my lager to 5.5% or under.

Where are you Oink? It's 441ml (I think) for local, only the imports are 500. I'm not sure what the littluns are.

BC- Just checked the BCLS and the Steam Works pilsner is 500ml for $1.99 per can. Still way too spendy but better than some the swill they sell.

I must have heard my mate back in Bristol say that a dozen times. But never to barstaff.

473ml (16oz) is typical local. 500ml is import, though I noticed a couple months ago Lowenbrau switched their cans down to 473ml

What's the volume of a Canadian pint in a pub? It's less than 568 from what I recall?

Yup, depending on the location you go to it'll go from 16oz to 20oz

Then its likely that Lowenbrau is being canned (possibly brewed) in North America

NA sizes are 355ml 473ml and equate to US fl oz's 12 & 16

EU sizes are 330ml 440ml and 500ml

... as its not an offical size... its the size of the glass they pour it in..

some of those glasses can be quite missleading, often the best you'll get is a US pint which I think is 473ml (1US pint)
