I heard 37,000 at 1:00 pm!

They're opening more reception centres ............ they expected most people evacuated from Williams Lake to turn north at Little Fort to go to Prince George, but they didn't, they went south. Kamloops is swamped.

A Centre has been opened in Vernon at the Curling Rink, another one opening in the Lower Mainland in Chilliwack.

One of the most interesting things to come out of Williams Lake (if you are a HGTV avid viewer of course) is Timber Kings! Ironically, with such real drama unfolding for the company right now, the tv series is no longer being filmed.

I hear they have three sites, and one - with four homes currently under construction - has been 100% destroyed.

That their hundreds-of-years-old stock pile of logs could go up must be heartbreaking. Even if insured, not so easy to replace....

The smoke from the fires is making it's way into Vancouver. Air quality warning has been issued for Metro Vancouver/Fraser Valley.

Residents are being allowed back into Cache Creek at 3 pm today. The noon news said there was a line-up at the police block, people wanting to be the first back in and one woman said how ridiculous it was they had to wait, she had to get her 3 dogs back home.

They're going to have to not only empty fridges and freezers after 11 days without power, but are seemingly being advised to throw out the appliances and get new.

The Royal Bank was trying to get its staff in so they could open

The grocery stores were trying to get staff AND supplies in so people could buy what they needed.

Some people just don't think beyond themselves!

I can see there is smoke haze, but it's not affecting me physically.

Other then seeing the haze nothing else, the reading closest to our apartment on the map is a 3 so not high but higher then yesterday which was 1-2 most of the day.

BC news was reporting yesteday (Tuesday) that the smoke plume had reached the Saksatchewan / Manitoba border

Might be a bit of relief coming ........... it's clouded over now, and we "may" get some rain over tonight and tomorrow. However, there may also be gusty winds and lightening in the Interior.

Our new Premier has extended the province-wide State of Emergency for another 2 weeks, and authorised another payment of $600 per person as soon as people reach their 15th day of evacuation away from home.
