Re: BC Ambulance Issues in Metro Vancouver

All the paramedics speaking out, and the fiasco that occurred during the heatwave, the government is going to make some sort announcement on Wednesday about changes to ambulance service in BC.

No massive changes in todays announcement, but hopefully there are enough qualified people where they can recruit new paramedics and dispatchers without too much trouble.

Darlene Mackinnon the COO is losing control, but I guess they are not firing her yet, but I wont be surprised if she resigns in the coming weeks.

"Dix also named Leanne Heppell, the chief operating officer at Providence Health Care, as B.C.’s chief ambulance officer on an interim basis. Heppell becomes the top decision-maker at the BCEHS and is specifically responsible for day-to-day management of the B.C. Ambulance Service, with that responsibility removed from the chief operating officer at BCEHS, who had been criticized by name in an online petition."
