Did you go to sunshine today ?

The weather was interesting up there................not many lifts open due to the wind they didnt offer much of reduced ticket price either.................. so we went to Nakiska

We where told at the office at Sunshine, they only had four lifts open................did they open more as the day went on?

No, we were just leaving (much later than anticipated) when H&H called from Sunshine Parking lot to say don't bother!

We had a quick family conference as it had taken us ages to pack up and actually hit the road, so we were reluctant to turn back.

Like you, we ended up at Nakiska, closely followed by the two H's who hadn't been there before. Didn't see you there though! :( We had lunch at the mid-mountain lodge and it was very jolly.

I would definitely recommend Nakiska on windy, overcast/snowy days, as it is lower, so less likely to be in the clouds, and the runs are mostly well-sheltered as they are all through the trees.

I find Sunshine quite difficult when the light is "flat", and this seems to be less of a problem on treed runs.

The only thing with Nakiska really was that it got very busy in the afternoon as the half-day ticket folkies arrived! :p

No way........ how funny always difficult to recognise peeps in there ski gear.

Had lunch at the base, a plate of poutine and a couple of pints......yum :)

Great lesson in skiing different conditions when you go to Nakiska ........but its all good.

I had to dodge a few kids in the afternoon, one was on a lead..........must have only been about 4 ...........never seen that before :p

"Conditions are the deepest they have been all season. 5 cms of new snow in the last 24 hours and 50 in the last 5 days give us excellent coverage on all three mountains. Yeah with 60km\h winds and temps of -60C when you factor in the windchill. :rolleyes: :p

Dont you remember this time last week they were forecasting Sun and +2 for Sunday?

When we all got there it was shrouded with clouds, less than half the lifts open and 50km\h winds. ;)
