Re: Bandit's got a job...
Well Thanks so much guys!!!
I will start my new job on Wednesday. I will be working for a Recruitment consultancy which is what I did in the UK, so that is good, not too much to learn, just geography and pay rates rates and taxes etc... Seems I'm going to be the senior Recruiter in my field, and my PA will do all the admin stuff which is good. i am unsure about Pension so have asked to find out - hope it's not to rude. I get 3 weeks vacation - again I asked if this went up to 4 weeks after a year, but if not - not to worry.... I get 5 days sick so i'm told!!!!! The commission structure is again something I didn't really understand, and I don't think it's going to be as good as it was in teh UK. However, for my first ever job in Canada, I'm not going to get too fussed about things. It's a job, and it's a decent and reputable company with a decent package.... Oh - and it's a block away......! So - my last w/end of enjoying the high life - I'm off ot Whistler to do some downhill mountain biking with a girl from BE I met tonight so should be fun.... Bx |

Hey folks,
Well, after a week of interviews with 2 agencies, and knowing which one I prefered, I was totally gutted to get an email this morning saying that they won't be taking things any further? Not happy... Then another email saying pls call the other agy I went to see, so call them, and they want me to start on Wednesday and even put the starting salary up too!!! Even without asking... So - today is Friday, a day for celebrations - and I'm off out to meet some BE'ers in Gastown later, and frankly after having been really pissed off about not getting the job I wanted, I'm now kind of relieved just to have a job, and I get my own PA! Me, with a PA, who could imagine!!!! So - a million thanks to all the vibes and I guess there is reason things have worked out they way they have..... Coolio - Bx Terese |

Very impressed! ;) Where's yours?! Mine's on the top of my left thigh. I did think of getting the Norwegian flag done on the right thigh to represent all my travels and balance it out but just the maple leaf so far!
Adele :) Norwegian flag? (And nothing like thread hijacking, eh?) |

You are aware that now that you are there and working as a recruiter you will have to accept CVs from all the BE users. HAHAHAHA Anyway - good luck with the new job. |

Well, part of me feels guilty about being so happy, not to say jammy aswell, as I know the struggle so many poeple go through to get here in the first place, and I'm so lucky to be Canadian already, but then the other part of me wants to share my happiness, and YYZ, I know you've had such a shit time recently in Toronto and it can't be easy... I will however definately accept CVs from all you guys looking to move to Van and see what I can do.... Bx |

I'm looking at BC and Alberta now and have applied to jobs there. One company advertising across Canada for someone like me and not against helping with relocation. :-) So fingers crossed something will work out. I am determined to be back before end of year for hopefully another 6 months of endless and feverish job hunting. |
