Autumn coming?
 

The leaves on my maple are turning a colour other than green and I saw geese going the wrong way this weekend.

These are not good signs. It's August FFS!

I drove to Moncton at the weekend, and quite a lot of trees (and boy do we have trees) were on the turn. I went tubing (they take you up river with an inner tube type thing and you float on the river for three hours downstream till you get back to where you started) it was lovely a couple of weeks ago, but the water was somewhat chilly yesterday, even though the temperature was 28.

It's bloody well coming....and not wishing to be a descant of doom....but what comes after autumn....:eek:

After a little bit of googling this is wha I came up with...very strange "uncylopedia" website...

Overall, the effects of autumn on the economy are generally considered to be positive...though only for the economy...because man, there's A LOT of ignorant people and they all go off the deep end in autumn, generally delaying the rest of us as we walk through downtown to work with their cries of pending doom.

If you know some one who owns this name, you should give them a green jellybean. The name Autumn is famous in the scientific world, einstien having made the calculation autumn and it is known that most autumn's are sexy, in that way that only being named after a season can happen!

Stupid Americans can't cope with words with more than one syllable so they have to use fall instead of autumn
In Australia, It is Spring, so it doesn't matter.

I've been trying to convince myself that the leaves and the grasses are still green, but there is a definate golden tinge to them now and it's feeling autumnal in the mornings and as the sun goes down too. Lots of Geese flying around practicing their Skeins getting ready to go. It's something I see with more importance these days. It used to be Oh, look geese. Now it's Oh no, look the geese are getting ready to go:thumbdown:

It's been a mediocre summer at best. The nights have been considerably cooler than usual and that augurs well for an earlier Autumn. Some trees around my area have the Fall colour tinges. I actually prefer the Fall season against all others.

We were in a Bancroft yesterday and a few leaves were changing colour which isn't so unusual for mid August but the birds are lining up on the wires and the geese are massing. We've had fog and mist, cool nights warm days. Dammit, my tomatoes aren't even ripe yet.

Its never warm enough for long enough for the bloody water to ever warm up! One of the reasons I don't go to the beach here.

Yeah this summer sucked :lol: So did last. But unlike you i'm not too fond of fall, and winter. Spring is alright, much better than winter, but summer is the one I actually like...:cool: But it hasn't been a proper summer in Canada for awhile.:thumbdown:

I seem to remember the last two summers were scorchers and what a wimp, the water gets warm enough -usually!
