Appropriate Clothing for Calgary in Fall ?

Coming for a 2 week holiday late September. Should I pack for all weather conditions inc snow or will regular cargos/sweater with a lightish jacket be more than sufficient ? Spending a week in Calgary then a week in Banff...

Thanks all :D

First couple of visits we did we managed in Calgary with long sleved Ts and a fleece or jacket most days (those visits were oct and november).

Average daily highs for the last two weeks of September are around 18C to 20C it can be warmer and it could be as cool as 8C to 10C.

Average overnight lows for the same period are around 3C to 5C and could be as cool as -4C.

Link to Calgary daily data for September 2007: http://climate.weatheroffice.ec.gc.c...&Month=9&Day=1

To see other Septembers just change the "Year" at the top of the table and click "Go"

Dress appropriately. ;)

Cheers
Steve

It was like that here in Calgary yesterday .... sun's out today though!

My folks visited the September before last for two weeks. The complained about the heat when they arrived, the rain in the middles, and it snowed before they left.

You won't get the really cold weather though (not like winter) ... it may well drop below freezing at night perhaps. So long as you have something that's waterproof and windproof and allows for some layers underneath you should be fine. You might bring gloves and a hat if you're going to the mountains though .....

Bikini (or speedo's whatever floats your boat!), shorts, flip-flops, sunscreen, trainers, socks, trousers, hoody, t-shirt, jeans, long sleeved t-shirt (to wear under your short sleeved t shirt gotta be Canadian about this), windproof jacket, walking boots, thicker jeans, thicker sweater, duck down jacket, snow pants, snow boots, hat, gloves, extra gloves, ear muffs, scarf, umbrella, scraper for the car windshield.

Think that about covers it lol:thumbsup:

Seriously though pack what you would wear for a typical Autumn in the UK with Morwenna's suggestion of hat and gloves for the mountains.

Although slightly further out than Calgary if the missus is worried about what to wear tell her jeans jeans jeans.

Its the standard dress code and can be dressed up or down and she will be fine!!!!!
