Hmm, should I shove him up the chimney?

Ooo - I'll never forget the sight of our border collie walking on tiptoe after he lost his nuts

Awful, isn't it? But at least ours stopped chasing cars, and, err, squirrels.

It's just occurred to me that this thread might be a coded request for information on abortion rights in Canada.

No, probably not.

Lets just say he got out of the chimney but not in a direction that we would have hoped (or even thought possible).

Sideways? He dug through the wall into the laundry room and is now nesting in the dryer I suppose.

Most commendable squirrel you've got there.

I believe he came out banging on about Breton and Magritte while they rather he favoured early 19th century realism. Still I agree, a most commendable squirrel.

and getting to be quite the celebrity.

If BE were more like You Tube, I suspect the squirrel would have it's own recording contract and clothing line by now.

Sideways is exactly what he did and spent a couple of days scurrying around the walls of the house. Anybody know how a squirrel manages to get from a chimney into the wall? He has been quiet for a quite a while now - prefer to think he found an exit but I suspect a more sinister end.

Funny you should mention the dryer - a couple of years ago it wasn't working very well and I assumed that the vent was blocked with lint - I disconnected it, peered along the tubing and sure enough there was a blockage. I put my hand in to remove the said blockage and pulled out 25 nuts and lots of dried (very dried) grass.

A couple of weeks later the dryer stopped working altogether as some of the nuts had made their way into the blower motor, which the motor objected to quite strongly.

I hadn't thought of it before - but perhaps it was the same squirrel and he came down the chimney looking for the laundry room.
