Anyone been scammed by their removal company?

Re: Anyone been scammed by their removal company?
Great news!
Ours were absolutely fine in the UK, it was once the stuff left our home that the trouble started. My advice is to get details of the third parties they use then double check them with the guys on this site. Better to be safe than sorry!
Good luck with the move. Brings back memories of April this year!

Sounds good to me!
We checked out the UK end, but not the Canadian end, so it was the third party contractors we had the real issues with.
Good luck!

Well our removal company came today and packed up all the things we are shipping; and I have to say that they were very helpful and careful with everything.
We did raise some of the concerns highlighted in this thread and they were assuring that the company they contract in Canada is one they use often.
So fingers cross we will be reunited wih our precious possession soon.
I'll let you know.

Ours should be arriving in Canada on the 8th Nov - when it will get to us who knows, but soon after would be good as we signed up for a rental apartment today - we take possession on the 12th Nov.

Was just wondering if anyone else's stuf smelled funny after being in the container for 6 weeks or so - even a month later some of our furniture has a bit of a whiff about it and its not subsiding. Its a kind of faint manure-type smell. Looks like I need to get some Febreeze.

Lucky you...... by the time we get ours it will probably be Christmas, all those toys to unpack, may not need to get any new ones, they will be so excited to see their prize possessions.
BUT, if its delayed; Christmas will be very costly.
The teenagers are already bored, grumpy and failing out over the single laptop we have borrowed. :curse:
Good luck in your new home
