Any naff pressys???
 

Just wondered if anyone got something really naff this christmas, I did ok as told everyone we would need canadian dollars as we dont want to cart too much stuff over with us.....but I did get quite a few boxes of choc's when everyone knows I am doing weight watchers. And sloggy knickers......hate them, think they are like tummy warmers. Few years ago did get a large pressy from OH and was so disapointed to find it was a large tool box with all sorts of tools and little draw for putting screws in. Nice one.:p

My MIL gave me a golf club bag. No naff, exactly, but utterly useless. I don't play golf, nor do I have any intention of taking it up.

Not really naff pressy's but I ended up with two digital photo frames, all very neat in themselves and something I think I can use quite nicely.

But and it's a big but...who the hell figured out what ratio to use for these freakin' things.

Standard ratio for a digital camera is 4:3 and for Digital SLR 3:2 which gives pictures of reduced size 800x600 or 800x533 respectively.

The two picture frames are 800x480 and 480x234 so nothing fits without massive cropping. :curse::curse::curse:

I got very lucky, no naff gifts this year! :thumbsup: got my Trono(sic) FC home shirt, a stereo system that was built to suit ipods, money and some clothes that I've already had a few compliments on

Just did what my mate did in John Lewis's a few years back when buying lingerie for his wife. He pointed at the female assistants chest and said "Oh, about your size."

We said to everyone not to buy us things due to moving so we've ended up with about 10L of VODKA:ohmy:, now the pressure is on to drink them all. Looks like we're havin a very merry Christmas or paying lots of duty.

Hi Alvic, havent been hiding anywhere,.... am mostly on the trucking forum,but thats now dead as a door post:( and been working realy hard back and forth to Florida and the such like:p are you now at long last in Canada???

My hubby got a book from his Mum back in the UK.

It was a different edition of the same book she sent him for his birthday.

Which he had already bought for himself and read.

sigh. :blink:

ps she sent me a book too! It's set in Canada and it seems really good .... I'll let you know when I've read a bit more. :thumbsup:

Bring your Vodka with you - I was really surprised how expensive it is here and wine, no cheap bargins from Adsa, no competition at the local Liquire Store. Shock Horror, but not slowed me down any.
Anyone want to meet me in the bar? Its open all hours.

I got very little this year compared to some of the excesses i'm hearing here! A pendant of a snake, a small puzzle of a snake, and some money that is ..well, not a lot.

but as the folks are on a pension, its far more than I expected, and i don't expect htem to finance me.

I'm just glad they'll have me for a few days.

My mother inlaw as always gave me a lovely pressy a wee purse with pink lip gloss ruby red blusher and there was a dog on the purse saying cute or what last year it was polly pocket body glitter,the stupid bugger really does not like me does she

My OH got a santa thingy at work a hair dryer oops he is bald and then he got a bottle of whisky a bottle of vodka and 10 cans of tennents double oops he dont drink so PARTY for me

Good for all them interviews :D

He got a bottle red and £20 in b&q vouchers from suppliers at work, shame we have finished the house :mad:

He took redundancy at work so he left just before xmas, what did the boss's do for him:blink::blink: nowt - all theysaid was good luck in canada and hope all goes well

7yrs of hell, all the extra hours he does, no extra pay as hes a manager, all the help etc etc etc

O well, better than a naff pressie :rofl::frown:

I got some walkie-talkies (I asked for them).

Souvenir, I'll swap your golf bag for something that I don't want anymore if you like . . . . I can't think of anything we don't need though apart from baby accessories or a hose pipe.
