Any Ex Pats In Comox Valley BC?
 

Hi we have been in Vancouver three years now living in Port moody within the lower mainland, we love Canada and even have our own little Canadian in the family now. However we find the property prices so expensive, and are struggling to make the step up from our 3 bed townhouse to a bigger home to accommodate our three kids and our frequent guests from England. So we have been exploring moving to another area, we really like Comox on the Island, and the property is so much more affordable plus the area is beautiful, with the addition of Mount Washington being so close for skiing.

So I was hoping that maybe someone from that area, or who has lived there recently could share their experience of living there. My husband is a stone mason, so I am concerned that moving there might mean him spending the week on the mainland working and then only being with us at weekends, as not really sure if there is potential work there for his trade.

We are only at the exploration stage so any comments regarding Comox lifestyle, schools etc would be gratefully received.

Im new to this site - came on to get details on returning to UK. We have lived in the Comox Valley for several years and looking to get out. Yes it is beautiful but that is all. Unless you are completely into hunting and the great outdoors there is very little to do or places to go. Work is hard to come by. Would never move here just because of property prices.
