Default Any celebrations planned for the Queen's diamond jubilee?

Ottawa reckons it's been flooded with pitches for diamond jubilee parties. We all know Stephen Harper likes to play up the Royal connection, but what's the feeling at street level? Is anyone excited/bothered/aware?

Anyone heading back for a good old British knees up?

We're having a big party. We're getting our deck ready as we speak and we're doing proper nice food, no bloody hotdogs or hamburgers. Sandwiches, sausages rolls and jelly and HID has threatened to make a Victoria sponge cake so at least the $500 kitchen ornament will finally get a run out.

When is it exactly?

Not that I need any additional motivation to raise a pint glass.

My son lives in Regina. You'd expect them to care. But no.

Ingrates.

Too bloody right, given the fact that the naffing town is named after her favourite vajayjay.

Is your nan coming over? That would be nice. She could pretend to be the Queen.

I’ve been thinking for a few weeks now of inviting her out here but given her Rousseauian leanings I think she’ll only go and say something to piss off the locals. She was even talking about moving out here permanently but I'll believe it when I see it.
