The system is passing us right now... but only 5 cm in the forecast here.

Happy New Year!

Thanks for that Val....we are staying home new Years Eve and having our $5.00 a lb Lobster but on New Years Day we always go to a New Years Levee....Guess we will have to rethink our plans. Although listening to the radio this afternoon they just talked about 5 cms of snow...so we shall wait and see what the south shore gets.
Stay safe!

According to Environment Canada there is even a blizzard warning for that tropical paradise that we know as 'The North Shore'. Surely not?

Happy shovelling anyway. By the time this system hits Newfoundland it appears to be turning to snow/ice pellets/rain/freezing rain in that order. New Years day is going to be 'messy' I think.

Happy New Year to all you guys out there in NS (and everyone else who reads this). We couldn't make it out this year as Bob has to work, we are really envious of you getting the snow, it's just cold and windy here. Will check out the webcams tomorrow.

Cheers everyone (raises a glass)

So I opened my front door this morning, to check the conditions out and it was like opening one of those joke closets where all the toys and junk fall out all over you. Three feet of snow up against the door and a full on blizzard in my face.

My car as officially snowbound. The radar shows the storm spinning above my house and it look like there's at least 4-5 hours more snow to come!

Here're some pics of a right proper blizzard / Nor'easter. Movies to come (if I can figure out how to do it, and yay for wind-proof clothes )

Happy New Year to all you snowbound folks. We went into Halifax last night to the Parade Square celebrations which was great. The weather was just starting to get worse on the drive back home. Great to see all the snow this morning though - I just love it

Very windy but doesn't seem as bad as the other week but plenty of snow and a lot of blowing snow
