I could be wrong of course ;) but it those holes look like sacral foramina. If I'm right then the ilium and pubis are attached as you can see the acetabulum and the obturator foramen.

Who knows, anyone want to boil up a rabbit and let us know the result?

It's an octopus arse bone: you can still see the liquid ink tank in the first photo.

isnt it upside down? it looks like a bottom jaw (mandible). can you photograph it the other way up?
