Ordering online Canda, it's such a delight. Come to Canada, order something on Tuesday, it'll arrive in October.

I ordered my refurbished all-in-one on Friday night. Tracking shows left the warehouse Monday night (Toronto) and arrived at the Moncton distribution place around 2.00 this morning, Weds.

If I order something from China I fully expect it might take some time to arrive, it's only common sense. Some things don't take long, some do. The cheap price of the items I order makes the wait worthwhile or I wouldn't do it. I've found Amazon to be one of the better companies for refunding incompleted orders.

With Canadian couriers we can deliver products with in 5 days to eastern Canada and 1-2 days to western Canada... With Canada Post, who we only use for remote areas or PO box # deliveries to eastern Canada take up to 7 days.

As with most online stores we aim to provide a great service for our customers plus we can provide a great deal on prices and deliver direct to your home.

Think of how much time you can wate travelling from one store to another, on average this can be 2 hours. Personally I'd rather spend more time at home than getting frustrated in stores.

Before any one says shop local.... Think, which shops are truly local?

This.

Stick to items that are stocked, sold and fulfilled by Amazon only. The rest is the wild west.

Or not this. In other people's experiences.

Yes, here's our experience:

1. Ordered a used book from third-party seller, it never turned up. Amazon refunded the money. I'm guessing it's because the seller suddenly realized their computer algorithm had put it up for sale for $50 when others were charging $500.
2. Ordered a bunch of stuff and it didn't arrive after a month. Amazon sent it again. Original order turned up a few days after the replacement. Amazon paid for us to send it back.
3. Ordered something 'fulfilled by Amazon', but the wrong thing turned up. Amazon said to keep it and they'd refund the money, because they can't resend an order from a third-party. I'm guessing they thought it wasn't worth the cost of shipping it back.

I just looked at Amazon.ca.
In 2016, we placed 27 orders.Everything from dog toys to Secret Santa gifts. About half from 3rd party sellers. Everything arrived and I would say within 2 business days for the vast majority. I sent 1 thing back for poor quality.
I do research before I order. I use other on line companies as well.
I don't have the time to shop, nor do I have a great selection of shops close by. It works for me.

I find amazon pretty good, but in general online shopping here is around 15 years behind everywhere else.

I ordered 18 drill bits in two sizes (don't ask!!) for work last week from Amazon.

Sold by Amazon themselves and delivered via 'Prime'.

So far I've had 9 parcels, typically with one or two drill bits in each one.

5 parcels came from Amazon in Mississauga, one from Richmond and three from the USA - Texas, Florida and New York.

The drill bits were between $3 and $5 each and delivered free.

There were only two different items - Amazon's system seems to be a little bit screwed up....

I'm still waiting for the last one, which seems to be another parcel coming from Texas....

At the risk of sounding like someone with shares in the company one assumes you ordered because it was a good overall price and Amazon has been able to achieve this by sourcing different suppliers all over North America and just a week later there is only one of 18 items still to arrive.

Bloody hell, you're hard to please.

I have found the same thing recently and Amazon have become more akin to ebay IMO. They have also made it harder to determine where the seller is located. On ebay you used to be able to say only items in ... for example but Amazon has removed then.
When shopping on Amazon now I always click eligible for prime button as this makes sure the item will be coming from Canada/Amazon themselves.

We signed up for Amazon Prime a few months ago. Overall, we like it. But we hate the same-day courier, Dynamex. They're truely awful. They throw the parcels, literally throw them as seen on our doorbell camera, at least 2 metres from the front door. They report as "Unable to deliver due to obstruction" when there are no obstructions. Camera shows they never turned up at all. They once left a package on our driveway. We've reported all of this to Amazon but nothing changes. If we select next day delivery, it comes via Canada Post whichi is always fine.

The main problem is the delivery. The couriers are the worst but even Canada Post is pretty bad. The examples of supposedly two-day service that comes in two or more weeks are numerous. I find it easier and far more reliable to ship anything important or spendy to the US and have a colleague bring it up.
