Taxation for British expat pensioner living in Gozo?

Does anyone know of the tax situation here? I used to fill in my Self Assessment for the UK online but this year they seem to have complicated matters by introducing a third party into the equation for which you have to pay (?) Why? Researching online for the tax situation here brings up some conflicting info. I have a small private pension and a UK state pension amounting to £16433 pa paid into my UK bank. Will I pay less tax here?
