Malta + IT = happiness?
Anyone living in Malta? Anyone working in IT out there?
I'm in IT in the web industry here in the UK. I've been a web developer for about 7 years (HTML, PHP, AJAX, mySQL, SQL-Server and more). In that time I have been a senior developer, team leader and am currently in a senior project management role (I also have a PRINCE2 PM qualification).
Some questions:
All advice gratefully received! I am happy to provide more info if necessary.
Thanks.

Some questions:
- Anyone know if there are many opportunities for people with my experience in Malta?
- If so, where are the best places to look on the web?
- Are property prices really as bad as I've been reading? Can I still live somewhere fairly reasonable for a web developer / project manager's wage?
- What kind of quality of life can I expect for about 35-45,000 EUR?
All advice gratefully received! I am happy to provide more info if necessary.
Thanks.

Re: Malta + IT = happiness?
Hi
We were looking at moving to Malta (amongst other places). My fiance works in IT (more or less what you do by the looks of things). I have seen a few adverts for web developers but the pay looks very very small (around EUR 20/25k). Have a look at the times of malta online, that is the best I have found so far. This new smart city development looks good, but they don't seem to have even started on this..
Sorry I can't be more help, but I suppose it is a start..

Hi there,
Have a look on http://www.pentasia.com/, I think there are a few jobs a month going here for web developers decent salaries too, but you need to be prepared to enter the iGaming arena, lots of them here, i myself have just moved here, working as a graphic designer for an iGaming company also.
For you though I think, having Front end and backend developer skills and the flexibility to do both would be an advantage in this industry think.
Loving Malta so far... few teething problems with having a family, but hopefully after a post on this website we can sort a few of these issues out.
Look on here also http://online.casinocity.com, and do a search for Malta in the Jurisdiction field, in advanced search, you will see how many companies there are here, worth a try.
Good luck!
