Good morning Antoine,
Well it is morning for us too now and, to quote today's NZ Herald headline: "We're still here !"
That was thoughtful of you to drop a few lines before the end of times.... according to a Mayan calendar indeed. Personally, I do think that we -as the human race- are in for a change, like the start of a new cycle. (We ARE carelessly destroying our own living space and that can only bring change, one way or another)
Oh yes! your observations about Malta's ways are spot on! I'll be renting for a while -till I've sold my house in France and found something corresponding to my needs and wishes.
Here's my phone number so to contact me when you come to Gozo:
798 62 808 or my Skype contact: [email protected]

Lots of luck to you too and hopefully we'll meet or talk in the New Year (if we make it there!)

Sabine

I also would like to go to Malta, for a holiday.
How is the economic situation there?

Hi there !
It's like everywhere in the world : grim ! No more no less...
But it's a great place you've got to like living on an island (quite tiny too)... Could be worth a go...
Are you from down under ?
Cheers ! Sabine

I LOVED Gozo. Even though tiny it has or had some lovely corners and if you like cliff top coastal walks its the best. There seemed to be a number of expats of the best type! (leave that to your imagination). The locals are delightful.

Not quite cold yet here, unlike last winter where I was told it was freezing.
A bientôt Antoine !

Billy Connelly had a house on Gozo, not sure if he still has it. I imagine the name appealed to him.

Vous etes sur Gozo en ce moment ou encore en France,Sabine?
I wonder if the winter months wouldn't be a little boring?

I have a NZ friend living in Melbourne who speaks about her Gozo days back in the early 90s as some of her happiest. She stayed in Xlendi.

I have no date yet to return to Malta but will let you know.

Bonsoir/Bonjour Antoine,

Eh bien je suis à Gozo depuis deux mois bientôt. Well, I can't tell about life being boring here in winter... I don't mind at all as I long for peace and quiet!!! But people do go outing, dining and wining and there's got to be some partying going on.
I'm way past that. But I like going to the theater (be it for music or plays) and there are good shows in Victoria. And plenty of good restaurants, in Xlendi, by the sea, same in Marsalforn where I stayed for a while.

Sabine

Bonjour Anton!
How have you been? Still in Perth?
Here the weather is just perfect now. I am lounging on my terrace which I'll probably won't be doing int the summer heat. It gets way too hot (and humid too apparently unbearable a bit like Singapore, Vanuatu that kind of place I guess)
Otherwise lfe is a breeze !
Ctach up with you when you drop by, here or in Gozo à bientôt Anton,

Sabine
