Default Thieving monkeys

Here in Penang, my jambu tree is in fruit again.
Much to the delight of these thieving monkeys giving their infants an early lesson in the art of the pinch, pilfer, swipe and snatch.

Had to google Jambu. Pink in Malay?? These are Thai rose apples? Nice. I can understand the monkeys nicking them.

Yes. Wax Jambu is native to Philippines, India, Indonesia and Malaysia. Common names of the fruit include wax apple, love apple, java apple, chomphu, wax jambu, rose apple, bell fruit, makopa, tambis Philippines. The wax apple tree also grows in the Caribbean.

The fruits from our tree often have worms in them, so I'm not so keen on jambu. Nor are the monkeys, who drop the wormy ones and pick another, eat half, and pick another, take one bite and pick another!
