I experienced the Canberra zoo two consecutive years back in the early 90s - imagine my surprise to find that the last event was the 27th. Aaah, the joys of getting old
The organisers have done a lot to improve security and cut down on public drunkeness - we were still able to take our own cartons of beer in back then but I believe they knocked that on the head. I'd be interested to know how the 2013 'trial' event in Malaysia was received - it got zero press here in Oz. I assume it will be held at Sepang or somewhere else well away from the voting public ?
Chin Jit Pyng, founder of JPM Motorsports, who is running the festival in conjunction with Summernats, said they'd decided to go for a full-throttle, four-day Summernats festival in KL after a small trial last year.
