Default Renovation nightmares and other tales

C'mon let's have some stories. I've got a good one from a few years back in Penang but I'll save that for now.

What has prompted this thread. I've been taking a look at a few properties just lately (in Penang). I may move....maybe. Or maybe I won't

Today's viewing. I really haven't laughed so much in years.

I was told I could take photos so I guess it's OK to put on here . I won't say exactly where it is anyway.

Just for tasters, this was the lounge area (I think). What was the guy thinking of? Did he have a yearning to visit the Acropolis in Greece? Is it some kind of masonic ritualistic archway? Strange.

The next odd thing was a door coming off the lounge. Maybe a toilet? A cupboard? Nope it's a full scale bathroom...bath, shower, the lot. Well, why not?

The best bit was in the Master bedroom. Another door beckoned. An en-suite bathroom? A walk-in wardrobe? Nope.... it's a large long walk-in cupboard with an aircon unit in it.

triage is an unknown quantity at this point

What, no concrete fish pond built into the middle of the lounge room? Terrible feng shui.

Every property investor in Malaysia thinks they are an ID. I can't decide which make me laugh harder:
1) faux palace of versailles style: paint on those columns! flocked wallpaper!
2) "this is what I imagine a modern bachelor pad looks like": black walls! blue UV lighting! glow in the dark florescent couch! Octagonal bed.

You should see some of the apartments in mont kiara that have been sitting on the market for a while, quite a few shockers there.

No the "stone" wall was for real. No wallpaper. Actually that was probably the best bit about the flat.

Oh and I forgot to tell you about the bat infestation
Yep there are some real shockers around.
