Default Public schools an option???

Hi, we are an American family who moves around the world due to hubby's job, but are interested in retiring in Malaysia.

We adopted a daughter from China, who will still be school age when we retire, and we were wondering is it possible for her to go to a local school? I've heard the classes are taught in English?

We hope to buy a terraced house outside KL or maybe Penang?

Any suggestions on where to live would be appreciated?

Thanks,

Lydia

There are restrictions on non malaysians accessing the local school system but not sure how this applies under the retirement visa.

All the expats I know use International Schools, a few use local private schools where the medium is English.

I didn't know about local private schools, that might be a great option, as the international schools are very expensive.

Thanks for the info.
