Ok so i may be moving to KL in the possible future and wanted to know what i should be looking for in terms of accommodation and what to ask for in the expat package, im currently living in the Middle East, Dubai and am enjoying the tax free life but unfortunately have to move.
My package at the moment in Dubai consists of (converted to Malaysian R from AED Dirhams)
Basic 320000 (MYR)
Housing Allowance 155000 (MYR)
Car Allowance 37000 (MYR)
Schooling for all children 76000 (MYR)
Airfare back to the UK once a year for all the family.
Plus a substantial bonus
Is there anything else i should be asking for, is it sufficient? Should i get paid in local currency or pounds?
I am coming along with the wife (who doesnt intend on working) and 2 children (aged 4 and half years and 15 months)
My priorities are schooling, accommodation and healthcare. My son is an athsmatic and i need to be able to take him into hospital if he deteriorates suddenly.
Im ideally looking for a 3 bed villa (must have a garden), not fussed about pool or anything, how much would i have to pay, roughly? Any ideas on utilities per month as in Dubai i have the air con on all day but live in a managed service apartment so i dont worry about the cost, i assume ill be doing the same in KL.
Ill be working from home but will need to travel into the office occasionally, near petronas towers.
Any help would be appreciated, have been told Holland Village is good but need some expert advice!

If you get that package in KL you'll be OK.
But it will be taxed.
£ or MYR, well what do you do with your current pay?
Is there a Holland Village in KL.
Didn't think so.
Security for your accommodation is a must.
So gated community.
