Moving to Malaysia- Looking for recommendations and inside tips
Hey Guys
I am coming to work for an international School just outside KL. I am wondering if anyone can recommend a shipping company they have used. Also, do you have any helpful tips or info for a new person? Thanks ahead of time. I am really excited to be moving but also super nervous. |

I know nothing whatsoever about it...:p
But since I'm contemplating a move to Malaysia from the US in about a year I have been saving info and here's the latest thread... http://britishexpats.com/forum/malay...laysia-887403/ Best of luck and it could also be of interest to other potential helpers if you divulged where you are coming from... I know it says British Expats but in reality it is a rather polyglot group... |

A shipping company to move from where to where? From London to KL? And how much do you need to ship? Only a few cardboard boxes, or a full household including furniture?

There are lots of tips for finding shipping companies and planning for your move over on our British Expats Vendor Forum for International Removals advice. Hope you find something helpful there! We booked originally 10 moving boxes, 2 computer chairs (Herman Miller) and a large TV, estimate was 75 feet but in the end it was slightly over at 85 feet. They collected on the day they said they would and took our stuff to their depot, it was then combined with others to come to us via KL, they used a local shipper this end. It all went pretty smoothly collected beginning of October got here beginning of December. A couple of small problems, one of the chairs had a broken wheel but I sourced a replacement locally (well a bag of 5) for just a few ringitt. One picture which was wrapped separately got left off the shipment but as soon as we made movecorp aware they found it and airfreighted it straight to us so no drama. I insured with Why Choose Letton Percival? | Letton Percival who were efficient and easy to deal with, didn't claim so no idea how that would have worked wore the worse to have happened.
