Some simple advice from a local: Malaysia is a crazy place, but putting aside politics, traffic, petty theft and taxi drivers, you will find that your senses are 100% bombarded by food, colour, lovely scenery, and hidden gems. I myself see this place as a whirlwind of activity and interesting things to see and do. With so many cultures and races, it's quite amazing that we are able to hold it all together for so long. Some may be skeptical and there are negative issues on religion, but truly I do not feel it much especially in the upmarket areas. Also, we are quite peaceful people, usually trying not to get into each other's businesses. The core values of respecting each other was instilled since young and in school. Of course time and greed and politics makes people temporarily forget this.
I do like to see more foreigners here in Malaysia, with your numbers and ideas we want to teach the young ones to see the world as a bigger place and reward people for their values and priorities in life.
