How about you?

It were 36 degrees C here in Northern Penang this afternoon. Flipping scorchio. Not rained for weeks.

Malaysia actually got a mention on the BBC World weather yesterday, which is quite rare. Unusually dry.

I'm jealous, just coming out of winter and it hit 24 today in the afternoon. Been cold for too long. who says Saudi is hot !!

Although we had a walk with umbrella yesterday, we were rather exhausted due to the heat. Weatheronline says little rain yesterday but maybe only for statistics. ;) A melting pot, indeed. :beer:

Been cool down here in Singapore since October.
Room thermometer down to 26 quite often and seldom above 29.

Due to back problems I stopped going to the gym for 6 weeks but went out for a walk of an hour plus in length every day at 2pm.
Never even broke out into a sweat.

Been pretty warm in Melaka.... low to mid 30s daytime and not less than 26 at night, for weeks. TBH I cannot actually remember the last time we had rain. Struggling to think if we have had any this year yet!

Seem to recall that Taiping (close to Ipoh) gets the heaviest rainfall in Malaysia?

Great - just when its finally starting to cool down in the frying pan known as 'inland Australia' .... :(

Friday, 3rd of January and birds were literally dropping from the sky here in the NorthWest - inhuman.

Is it a humid heat too? Does anyone know how it compares to northern Australia? I've experienced Port Hedland and Barrow Island weather before.

nothing like Headland not even in Cyclone season. headland is way too dry and a lot hotter

Had a brief difference of opinion with another poster on a forum that Malaysia is generally hotter than Bangkok and surrounds, and I stand by it. Reminded me of Cairns in Dec/Jan, before the cyclones bring the rain.

(Jakarta, IMO, is worse than any of the above courtesy of the traffic)

Yes Taiping seems to attract more rains than any states in Malaysia. I wonder why...

I guess so. To be honest, we Malaysians have the tendency of being completely ignorant of our own country. I am a bit ashame to say this, but I think you guys knows better of where are the touristy place on the island than me :D

Like the case of your friend wanting to know the places of interest over at the mainland on FB. I kind of had to googled for it :lol:

Hence my apologies if I gave inaccurate info, like the HSBC location :zzz:

Oh Roy, I was being sarcastic about the raintrees.... hence the smilies. No, I have no idea why Taiping has a high rainfall.

You were very helpful to my chums who were going over to the mainland. Think they were going over there today.... not heard anything yet. Hope they are not lost hehe :D
