Malaysian Highway Code

1 Attachment(s)
You won't be able to live in Malaysia for long before you want to rent/buy a car and get out and see places. For drivers from Europe/North America this can be a bit traumatic. To help you along I have compiled the attached highway code.

I dare say others will be able to add further enlightenment.

Yes, somehow thought this would be what it is.

Didn't JC3 do a similar kind of topic a little while back? Might have been before your (BE) time, Neonhippy.

We used to be in tears watching locals go over speedbumps. So funny.

JC3 told me something similar had been on the forum but didn't claim any credit and I don't recall seeing it. But I know what you mean about watching the locals. The temporary place we rented overlooked a couple of T junctions with traffic lights. The antics of not just the motorcyclists, but the car drivers too, provided us with endless hours of entertainment.

Ahhh, a lot of wine has flowed out of the refrigerator since then. And my post was far too serious to be memorable.

Another thing I've noticed along Seri Tanjung Pinang, is the gardeners who have had enough of life.

You know, it's dual carriageway, and you're steaming along the outside lane and all of a sudden there's a gardener just standing there in the road  No warning. How about one of those big bright triangles a few yards back?

In a senior moment I read the above as...
"and you're steam ironing along the outside seam and all of a sudden there's a gardener just standing there in the trousers  No warning. How about a big bright box a few yards back?"

When I first drove in PG I saw this Jalan Sehala road sign. I thought it's a street name for a long road that's part of a ring road system as I saw it at different parts of Georgetown! Hehehe

Ha ha, Columbine.

Not as bad as avoiding the routes signposted Pusat Bandar town, when trying to find your way to the city centre.
"Pusat Bandar? No, it can't be that way...."
