Default Malaysian Flight 370 and airasia 8501

I was just thinking about the airasia flight and the difference between how the Malaysian's are helping to find the aircraft and how they where with 370 and lack of doing anything at the time, then I thought Chinese on 370 and mostly Muslim's on the airasia flight 8501.

Any thoughts

Different scenarios entirely.

Perhaps the authorities have learnt?
370 was a security issue, whereas 8501 is a weather issue so no security problems.

Where does Malaysia fit into this? It's an Indonesian plane and owned by Air Asia Indonesia as I understand it. Air Asia Indonesia is I believe 49 percent owned by Air Asia, hence Tony Fernandez getting involved.

I read that it was the Indonesian authorities in charge and, I think, plane was lost in Indonesian jurisdiction?

I guess it is quite a difference when a plane gets lost when flying overland and when it is in the mid of nomansland in an ocean.
Anyway, what is the constructive point in making insinuations about preferences for certain passenger nationalities??

I think MH370 was the first time Malaysia had to deal with an event of such complexity and they must still be in a state of readiness in case some trace of its whereabouts is determined. The Air Asia situation draws upon just about everything they learned from MH370 so they should perform much better and it is quite irrelevant who was on the plane.

My wife is Indian Malaysian and I have seen first hand how they are treated by the Muslim Malaysians. also when the Malaysian buy an house if you are Muslim you get 10% off the price but not for the other Malaysians there are other things I could say and yes its not just the Indians its the Chinese who have the same problems.

AirAsia Indonesia is owned 68% by airasia so its a lot to do with Malaysia and I was just saying that the Malaysian Government are doing more then last time.

BB is quite right. AirAsia Indonesia is 49% owned by AirAsia Berhad:-

BB and IVV are correct. Indonesian Gov't will not permit an airline to be registered in Indonesia unless majority owned by an Indonesian.
That's why the aircraft are Indonesian registered (PK) the flight numbers are Indonesian (QZ) the crew are Indonesian and, even if some expat pilot is employed, will require an Indonesian license to operate. The HQ for Air Asia Indonesia is Soekarno-Hatta airport in Jakarta.
Tha same goes for Air Asia's other associated Companies in Philippines, Vietnam, India etc.
