Smile Malaysia boleh - Moodys sees 5pc Q2 GDP growth

Business Times reporting that Moody's expects Malaysia's gross domestic product (GDP) to have grown by 5 percent in the second quarter of 2012 following strong domestic activity. Data suggests that the economy grew by 5 percent year-on-year in Q2, after posting a 4.7 percent growth in the first quarter.

Moody's said quote "Going forward, we expect robust public and private investment will support activities, however, weak western and regional demand still pose a downside risk to growth,"

Can what? Can grow... unlike other countries that are going down the tube. That was my point. What is yours exactly?

Yes yes UMNO still there though not much in Penang which is firmly DAP and doing very nicely.

One of the biggest things I noticed in Malaysia is people generally aren't 'down in the dumps', with most optimistic and willing to make a go of things despite the unstable economy... I feel opportunities are still widely available...

Yes agree with you. I think it's an Asia attitude though. Much the same in Singapore. People don't dwell on things. Things happen, they forget and move forward. Very healthy attitude I reckon
