Default Lift (elevator) etiquette in Malaysia

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this.

In our condo we have 3 lifts for residents and 1 lift for contractors/others. So many times I walk into the lift lobby and there's someone there waiting for a lift, but they haven't pressed the button I mean, it's obvious isn't it?

And other times getting the lift down to the bottom (we are 20+ floors up) and the lift stops halfway down, doors open, and there's 1 or 2 people smiling cheerily, who don't get in the lift, who have pressed both up and down buttons, when they actually wanted just up.

It drives me bonkers.

Yeh I know, Kenny. I'm stuck indoors this afternoon so one tends to get rather verbose on the forum and facebook

How about able bodied individuals taking the lifts one floor in shopping centers (when the lift is next to the escalator anyway) at the detriment of those waiting with prams etc.

If that is all, may karma strikes and you have black outs. But I suppose it'll be a good workout trying to get to 20th floor on foot.

people are just rude with lifts here in Saudi. Trying to get in before you get out, WTF ! or not wanting you to get in( invading their space??).
