KL Holiday/Money Help
Hi there,
We are heading back to the U.K. but visiting Kuala Lumpar for a week's holiday first. Could someone tell me roughly what we could expect to spend for a family of 5, i.e. eating out etc. Also, would travellers cheques be the way to go, ringgit or aus dollars? Cheers Shaz |
Re: KL Holiday/Money Help
My question to you would be:
'Why do you want to spend a week in KL?' |
Re: KL Holiday/Money Help
I have to echo that sentiment I'm afraid. I like KL but it's not a week-long destination.
I can't remember the last time I used travellers cheques - are they still used? I would take a small quantity of MYR/RM and a large quantity of credit cards :) I would think you can also use the ATMs, but not certain on that. Don't carry too much cash on you in KL. |
Re: KL Holiday/Money Help
Well, it's one of two destinations that our flight goes too and I really didn't want to have to travel elsewhere from there then back again just to get our flight back to the UK.
We've been through a pretty hectic time lately with selling up and moving into 'mothers', so anywhere will be a break for us. We're all beached out here too so some shopping, chillin around a pool and try and get our heads together about the move back as we've had little time to think about it. Basically it's just a stop gap and a break before the long haul flight back to Belfast. Cheers Sharon |

You can use some of the ATMs.
Why not take a short flight out to Penang ? Takes 50mins. There are flights all day for about US$30-US$40, and tons of hotels there. Sure, again, beaches and shopping, but a lot quieter than KL. http://booking.airasia.com/skylights.../skylights.cgi |
